Terra Flux iR offers individual residencies, each spanning up to three months. We welcome applications from a diverse range of practitioners, including artists, curators, designers, performers, educators, activists, writers, architects, filmmakers, and others across all mediums and disciplines. Whether initiating, developing, or finalising a project, applicants will find space, dedicated time, support, and enriching dialogue to aid their creative process. We particularly encourage individuals interested in engaging with the locale of Sainte-Tréphine, France, and who are open to collaborative research and exchange.

The Terra Flux iR program adopts a multilevel, participatory, and transdisciplinary approach by networking residency participants in dialogue with Terra Flux members and associates who are climate experts, academics, social scientists, and artists with extensive experience in movements for social change. Through these interactions, participants can broaden their outlook and deepen their understanding of the intersection between art, science, and social justice.

The program’s semi-public mentoring activities foster collaboration, transdisciplinary learning, and local engagement. At the outset of each residency, a two-day workshop will inaugurate the program, followed by a public seminar aimed at fostering connections and envisioning collaborative projects within Terra Flux and with local communities. Throughout the residency, the team will be available for daily discussion and feedback, with Mentors providing support on an on-call basis, facilitating interconnections among resident artists and ourward to the Terra Flux network.

Terra Flux purchased a large farm house with four separate studio spaces set across large gardens. Each Resident is allocated their own workspace / studio at the premises. These are large spaces with the ability to undertake a diverse range of visual art practice. All Residents also have access to a private bedroom, our large eat-in kitchen, common areas, outdoor dining, and collective resources such as projectors, a riso printing press, a photocopier and rudimentary AV equipment.
